Vereb, Hitt and Associates have been helping churches, organizations and mission agencies do the hard work of assessing risk, preparing for crisis and training incident response teams. How can VHA help you be better prepared?

Risk Assessment

We provide Risk Assessments by which evaluate a country (or city if we have enough information) on a 0-45 point basis.  We review the political environment, the national environment,  crime, the local environment, the cultural environment, health issues, road safety and ecological concerns.  These areas are rated and an overall risk is assigned.  We incorporate as much personal observation in our assessments as possible if we have been to a certain location.  We provide some assurance of your due diligence as you shepherd God’s resources, your short-term missionaries.

Crisis Management

Many churches and organizations do not have an emergency plan in place for their short-term mission teams in the event of a crisis.  The most common reason we have heard for not having a plan is “nothing has happened to us.”  Our prayer is that nothing ever will, however, it did happen to us and we learned volumes from that experience.  In fact that was the genesis of the Going Prepared book.  We can provide crisis management services to your church and organization.

Incident Response Team Training

What would you do if someone at your church had a medical emergency other than call 911.  What is your plan?  Do you have doctors available and a team of trained individuals who can take take charge of such a situation?  What if a tornado was heading toward your church during a service?  What would you do if a shooter came into your building?  All of these have occurred and while you may not be able to prevent all of them, you can mitigate the results with appropriate planning.
